Hey everyone… it’s been a few weeks since I have posted on here… I haven’t really been doing much just loads of testing and training… I did a few little races to try and get back into racing and they all went good..
This weekend was round one of the British U23s at little silver in Devon… when we arrived at the track on Saturday afternoon the sun was out and the track was really dry… The organisers did a good job of getting loads of water on it and a bit of overnight rain helped to…
Qualifying didn’t really go to plan as I got myself worked up and a little bit nervous for nothing really… I ended up 13th…
Race 1. The track was pretty wet as there was loads of water put down in the interval… I didn’t get a good start and was stuck mid pack… The first 10 minutes I rode shocking and didn’t really overtake anyone… I was also having some trouble with my clutch as it was starting to slip going up the hills… With just under half the race to go I started to feel a bit better and started to pass people finishing 9th at the end of the race I new I didn’t really do what I was capable of and I knew that because I wasn’t breathing or relaxing..
Race 2 and once again I didn’t get a good start… On the first lap I felt a lot better and I was a lot more aggressive in passing and moving towards the front… I raced a lot better and felt really good and didn’t get tired at all and was still pushing for the last two laps… Going in to the last race I new if I got a good start I would be able to do a lot better…
Race 3 I got a much better start and was 12 out of the first turn again I was aggressive and after the first two laps found myself in a comfortable 5th… I kept my head down and didn’t make any mistakes and managed to get 4th by the finish… I was really happy with how the race went as it was very hard packed and baked by the last race… overall I ended up 4 th which was a good result and probably where I belong… I’m looking forward to the rest of the rounds to keep pushing up to the top boys… next week is the Maxxis British championship at duns Scotland..
